Overcome The Mid-Afternoon Dip In Energy
You check the time, it’s roughly 2PM - and you notice a (drastic) dip in energy.
As usual.
During this time, your productivity plummets.
Your brain feels slow & sluggish. Your performance lowers all across the board. And while we may not be able to completely stop your afternoon dip -
We can certainly neuter its effect on you.
3 Actionable Steps You Can Implement Today
Adding Celtic Sea Salt To Your Water
Yoga Nidra (NSDR)
Grounding
Let me explain these three points in more detail.
Get Those Salts In:
Drinking loads of plain water is not enough.
Plain drinking water is void of the minerals that we need to overcome the feeling of fatigue in the afternoon.
A lack of salt in your diet can lead to you feeling fatigued.
As long as you avoid processed foods which are packed with refined salts (e.g. crisps) - you can add some salt to your water without overdosing on salt.
Add half a teaspoon of salt to your water once or twice per day.
You need salts to perform at your best.
Salts (NaCl) provide two essential electrolytes (sodium & chloride). These play vital functions in your body.
What is an electrolyte?
Electrolytes are just an umbrella term for essential minerals in your body (e.g. sodium, calcium, potassium).
I recommend Celtic sea salt.
Why?
Because most supermarket salts are refined.
Which is okay - but we can do better. (Natural) Celtic sea salt isn't refined whatsoever!
Refined salts lack many essential minerals to keep you feeling at your best.
And they also may contain harmful preservatives.
Celtic sea salt won't give you these 2 issues.
Celtic sea salt supplies all 82 trace minerals needed by the human body for optimal health. Helping you feel as energized as possible.
Adding Celtic sea salt to your water is bound to have you feeling at your best.
It's cheap & affordable as well. I'd recommend it to you! You’ll easily be able to order it online.
Yoga Nidra (AKA NSDR):
Sleep without actually sleeping.
Feel refreshed without sleeping.
That's what this practice is. Yoga Nidra is an ancient Indian practice which originated between 700-1000 BC.
It's a proven method for boosting energy.
All it takes is 10 minutes (or less).
It's a type of meditation. It's preferable to naps because naps may disrupt your sleep-wake cycle whereas NSDR (non-sleep deep rest), won't.
That’ll mess with your sleep quality.
So do NSDR before your afternoon work (or whenever you need a boost).
And you'll notice better performance.
Below is the NSDR script I prefer (change the playback speed to alter the time spent on this practice).
You're Grounded!
Or at least you should be!
Take your shoes & socks off and expose your feet to the bare ground.
Why?
Because doing so will allow you to absorb electrons from the Earth's surface which are used for the process of respiration.
Respiration produces ATP (which is a form of energy).
Therefore it’ll help you feel more energised.
Do this as much as possible when it's convenient for you. Anywhere near 30 minutes is golden.
Anyways that’s a wrap!
